Tag set | Countdown to end of nominations

We're just over halfway through the nominations stage; thanks to everyone who has nominated so far. We do have a few queries and clarifications at this stage. For some of these, we will need to hear from the original nominator; to demonstrate this, please link to your nominations page, which will be in the format "https://archiveofourown.org/tag_sets/11661/nominations/[6 digit number]" - only you and mods can view this, and the information visible on that page does not identify you in any way.

Creator's Choice of Fandom

We have received a nomination for this with the tag "Any Female Character/Any Female Character". This type of nomination has not been used in FAD before but we have decided to allow it. Please note:

• we will be interpreting it to mean that the creator has complete freedom of choice over what canon and characters to use - they will not need to be ones from the tag set, but they should be existing characters for whom a fan work is being created, not Original Work
  
• "Any Female Character/Any Female Character" will be the only tag in this fandom (i.e. we will not be accepting tags in the same style as are seen in Original Work equesting characters that fit specific dynamics)

Please note that when requesting you should only request this tag if you are willing to receive a gift for which you may be completely canon-blind. At the end of this round, we will evaluate whether to continue allowing this type of tag in future rounds.

Use of "and" in tags

A number of fandoms have tags nominated in the format "A and B" rather than "A/B". Since "A&B" is commonly used for platonic relationships, "and" could be confusing.

All Media Types

We try to avoid "All Media Types" fandoms as being overly broad (with the sole exception of Clone Wars, because of idiosyncracies in the AO3 tag structure).

However, we have accidentally let through "Dangan Ronpa - All Media Types"; please could the nominator let us know a more specific fandom we can move these nominations to?

There is also a pending nomination for "Wicked - All Media Types"; is it OK to change this to "Wicked - Schwartz/Holzman" or would some other fandom tag suit better?

Specific fandoms

Arrowverse

The nominations guidelines ask for the general "Arrowverse" fandom tag (which is synned to Arrow the show on the AO3 backend) not to be used. On approving the tag for Arrow (the show), we discovered three nominations for the general "Arrowverse" tag were pulled through to that fandom. Please could the nominators of the following confirm whether or not they are happy with these tags appearing in the tag set under Arrow, or if they would prefer them under another show or "Crossover Fandom"?

It is likely that you will not be able to change the fandom for yourself in the nominations, since AO3 takes the approval of Arrow as meaning that Arrowverse is also approved; please comment here instead. (Please also note that the second and third of these also require clarification on the "and", as above.)

Bridgerton

The tag "Penelope Featherington/Penelope Featherington" is nominated - unless this series has taken an unexpected SF/fantasy turn, it seems unlikely this is some sort of selfcest situation. Please could the nominator clarify the intent?

For Arrowverse, I think the 2nd and 3rd are my nominations. I'm so sorry for the mistake!

Ryan Wilder/Sophie Moore (Batwoman TV 2019) << this one is already in the tagset.

The 'and' was a mistake as I copied my nominations from a different tagset that used 'and'. I thought I changed them to match this exchange's tagset. Sorry again!

Penelope Featherington/Penelope Featherington:

Look, I went to nominate something else and then AO3 suggested this and who am I to question it? Penelope Featherington never met her alternate universe self in canon, but I for one would love to see it happen. This character has so many faces and perhaps it would be good for her to confront the different rolls she plays. (In a sexy way, ofc.)

In all seriousness, AO3 did suggest it when I typed in her name and I was tickled even though I realise it's not exactly canon compliant or even adjacent. Please feel free to disregard it if it's too out there! :)

Thanks! This is basically a display bug - behind the scenes, each tag is only listed in the tag set once, but they appear twice on the main screen because they've ended up with two associations to the same fandom (most likely due to AO3 appearing not to respond on the first attempt to associate them, so we hit the button again and then it caught up and did both at once). We're aware of a few others elsewhere in the tag set as well; we'll fix them all during the tag set clean up stage after nominations have closed.

Not the nominator, but the ships nominated for Dangan Ronpa can either go into Dangan Ronpa - Hope's Peak Arc, the overarching fandom commonly used in exchanges or Dangan Ronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc, since all the characters in the unassociated ships are from that game specifically.
