Broad fandom tags

We are open to persuasion that these are the most appropriate tags (especially given that [ETA: apart from Tomb Raider] they're all in the Anime & Manga category, where the AO3 tag wrangling convention seems to be to bundle versions together), but would appreciate confirmation that there aren't significant variations between the versions covered by the tags:

• ETA: Tomb Raider & Related Fandoms - the non-Lara characters in the nominated ships seem to be a mixture of Original, Legend and Survivor Timelines, with two of them appearing in both Original and Legend. We would very much appreciate communication from the original nominator.

Specific queries

• Dark Widow (Manga) - in Ratri/Miyabi, who is Miyabi? (The demon hunter character who first appears in Chapter 7? Is there a source for the name? One of us read the whole thing to confirm all the character names for the nominated tags, but may have missed this one.)
  
• Dragon Age (Video Games) - please replace Female Giant Spider/Any Female Character with one or more ships involving specified characters (including OCs, if desired)
  
• The Hobbit (Jackson Movies) - in Tauriel/Lírien, is Lírien an OC? We can't find any evidence for her existence in canon. (A Tauriel/OFC tag would be fine, but if this character is an OC from a specific fanwork, she's outside the scope.)
  
• ダンジョン飯 | Dungeon Meshi | Delicious in Dungeon - in Namari/Kiki, who is Kiki? Neither googling with the fandom name appended nor searching the fandom wiki returns any useful results. - now found

I'm not the nominator, but I'm familiar with both Death Note and Claymore. For Death Note, the manga and the anime are pretty much the same with no significant differences. For Claymore, the anime only does cover the first half of the story but is otherwise pretty faithful, so I think it'd be all right to go with the canonical AO3 tag.

I'm not as familiar with the others, but I've seen them nominated with their canonical tags in other exchanges with no confusion, and generally with anime adaptations of manga and light novels, there usually aren't enough significant differences to split the canon into multiple tags.

Thanks; we'll put Death Note and Claymore through, and wait to see if anyone else weighs in for the others. But we'll probably lean towards approving them if we don't hear.

Re: Yugi-oh! -- not my nomination, but I'm pretty familiar with both anime and manga versions.

There are some differences: there's a lot of character and plot overlap, but there are differences. The manga's first arc (Death-T) was animated in a separate anime series (Season 0), while two of the Duel Monsters anime's five seasons are filler arcs with characters not present in the manga.

Not my nomination, but 'Lírien' is the common fandom name for the Elven harpist in the yellow dress at the Rivendell dinner. So it's a canon character/fanon name situation - 'Tauriel/Rivendell Harpist' might be a clearer tag, especially for those who aren't as familiar with the fanon/want more freedom to move away from it.

Tomb Raider Noms

Hi, I was the one to put for the Tomb Raider nominations, and the ones from multiple continuities (including Lara herself) were meant to leave it open to the requestor. If that is against the rules, I am sorry.

On further review, I don't have time to participate with this exchange, so I went and deleted the nominations. Sorry for the confusion!

We prefer to have unambiguous tags where possible because then the people on both the request and offer sides of the equation know what's intended, improving the chances of a good match. (With ambiguous tags, someone might offer a tag thinking they can create a gift in the continuity they know, possibly not even realising the other one exists, and then end up matched to a request that specifies the other.)
